With the arrival of summer, the probability of equipment jumping due to high temperature and heat, and the stability of the machine operation directly affects the enthusiasm of workers. The following small series will share the cases encountered in practice or collected.

In the summer, in the case of inverters that are indispensable for the current texturing machine and air compressor speed regulation, the hot weather in the hot sun is a hard injury to the inverter. A large number of existing researches and practices have shown that the failure rate of the inverter will rise with the increase of temperature, the service life will decrease with the increase of temperature, and the ambient temperature will increase by 10 °C, and the service life of the inverter will be halved.

For this reason, let us analyze the causes of the faults that cause the inverter to overheat, and the countermeasures to solve the corresponding problems:

1. The ambient temperature is too high

Reason: The inside of the inverter is composed of a myriad of electronic devices. It generates a lot of heat when it is working. Especially when the IGBT is working at high frequency, it will generate more heat. If the ambient temperature is too high, the internal components of the inverter will be overheated. To protect the internal circuit of the inverter, the inverter will report a high temperature fault and stop.

Solution: Reduce the temperature of the place where the inverter is located. For example, you can add forced cooling measures such as air conditioner or fan to the mechanical cabinet.

2. Poor ventilation of the inverter

Reason: If the air duct of the inverter itself is blocked or the air duct of the control cabinet is blocked, it will affect the heat dissipation inside the inverter, causing the inverter to overheat alarm.

Solution: Regularly overhaul the inverter, remove the garbage from its air duct, and smooth the air duct.

3. The fan is stuck or damaged

Reason: When the inverter fan is broken, a large amount of heat accumulates inside the inverter.

Solution: Replace the fan.

4. The load is too heavy

Solution: Reduce the load or increase the capacity of the inverter.

It can be seen that the maintenance and maintenance of the inverter is particularly important. How can we reduce the failure rate and let the inverter survive the summer safely and reduce the loss? Therefore, it is mainly introduced from the following aspects:

1. Summer inverter maintenance attention to these points

Suitable temperature, humidity, ventilation, dust-free and interference-free, internal and external cleaning of the inverter.

2. Directly affect the main aspects of inverter heat dissipation

1) Fan operation protection, the built-in fan of the inverter is the main means of heat dissipation inside the cabinet, which will ensure the normal operation of the control circuit. Therefore, if the fan is not working properly, it should be maintained immediately.

2) Overheat protection of inverter module heat sink The inverter module is the main component of heat generation in the inverter and the most important and most vulnerable component of the inverter. Therefore, each inverter is equipped with an overheat protection device on the heat dissipation board.

3) Brake resistor overheat protection The nominal power of the brake resistor is selected for short-term operation. Therefore, once the power-on time is too long, it will overheat. At this time, it should be suspended and used after cooling. Or choose a larger power resistor.

4) The inlet and outlet of the cooling air duct must not be blocked, and the ambient temperature may be higher than the allowable value of the inverter.

5) Interference problems should pay attention to the interference of the inverter to the microcomputer control board. The user-designed microcomputer control board has a poor level of technology and does not comply with EMC international standards. After the inverter is used, the conduction and radiation interferences often cause the control system to work abnormally and take necessary measures.
